Louise Rogers Slater

Since 1997, Louise Rogers Slater has been the non-executive chair of a second-generation family owned company, Consolidated Systems, Inc. (CSi). CSi is a steel fabricating company headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, with facilities in South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Arizona and Mississippi. Louise also serves on the board of Bonitz Contracting, Inc. Bonitz is a commercial ceiling, drywall, and floor-covering subcontractor.

In her official capacity, Louise participates in the compensation and audit committees of the Board. Of more significance, however, is the perspective she brings CSi from her 20 years in corporate consulting. Louise and her husband, Steve, own Catalyst Consulting, Inc. Her consulting activities range from the senior management level to the shop floor and include consulting on strategic planning, conflict management, and leadership development. Louise is also an adjunct faculty member for the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business where she teaches supervisory and team leadership programs. She develops custom courses for clients such as Duracell, Milliken, Alcatel, Toyota, and the Naval Air Systems Command.

Louise completed her B.A. in psychology from Furman University with a concentration in Business Administration. Her Master’s Degree is in Industrial Psychology (with honors) from Western Michigan University.

Her other “full time” job is keeping up with her two sons, ages 14 and 16. She lives out her commitment to serving others by actively working in her local community. Louise is past chair of the South Carolina State Museum Foundation, volunteers regularly at her church, and serves on the EdVenture Children’s Museum Board. She is a founding member and the 2003-2005 chair of “Women in Philanthropy” Columbia Chapter.
